Privacy Policy

Ikamba (ikamba.org) tracks new Rwandan music releases and ranks them by public YouTube statistics. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Visitors

You can use ikamba.org without an account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies and we do not sell data.

When you open a page, our server records the visit: your IP address, the approximate country it belongs to, the time, the page, the site or app that sent you (the referring page and any campaign tag in the link), and your browser's user-agent. We use these records to understand our audience, see which songs and pages people read and where they come from, and protect the site against abuse. They are kept on our own server and are not shared with advertisers or analytics companies.

Staff sign-in

Our own staff sign in to the admin area with Google. For them we store the email address and a session cookie, used only to control admin access.

YouTube data

Song information and view counts come from the YouTube Data API. We only use publicly available video statistics. Ikamba uses YouTube API Services, so the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy also apply.

TikTok

We connect only Ikamba's own TikTok account, through TikTok Login Kit and the Content Posting API. From TikTok we receive that account's basic profile information and an access token. We use them only to upload our own videos to that account's drafts, where we review and publish them manually. The token is stored securely on our server, is never shared, and can be revoked at any time from TikTok's settings.

Sharing

We do not share personal data with third parties, except where the law requires it.
